Meet the Bloggers of Buckeye Interactive: Rian Rainey

Rian Rainey

What is your position with Buckeye Interactive?
Web Engineer

What has been the most challenging aspect of your position at Buckeye Interactive thus far?
The fast-paced environment of learning multiple technologies for client solutions has been the toughest part. With a start-up, you have to be able to do a little bit of everything.

Name your favorite in-office moment.
Stocking(See our online inspiration from this website!)

If you could change jobs outside of your area of expertise for one day what would you be doing?
I would like to be doing something that puts me outside doing manual labor, like a landscape architect. I admire the design and rigorous aspects of the job. Maybe I should bring rocks, grass seed and mulch into our office!

What is your favorite Columbus “underground” place?
The Blue Danube in Clintonville and The Book Loft in German Village. Both are great for escaping for a little bit.

If you could have an animal tail, what would it be – and why?
I would like the tail of a gecko. If my predators ever thought they caught me, I could just shed my tail, escape, and grow another. If not a gecko than maybe a monkey’s tail because they use it to swing from branch to branch. I think that’s almost as sweet as opposable thumbs.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure food?
Brownies. Oh, and cookies and cream root beer float. Mmm.

Name your #1 Christmas wish-list item.
You know it has to be technology related. Anything shiny, new and from Apple is always on my list. If the iPad 3 comes out for the holiday season that will be my #1.

Any hidden talents or hobbies you’d like to share with the community?
In high school, I learned how to juggle and it’s my sad attempt at a party trick. Let’s just say nobody has booked me any party gigs.
