Simplifying event registration and the user experience.
When the team at the Spiritual Life & Learning Center (formerly Burkhart Center) first approached us with the project, they had a few priorities for their site redesign. First, they needed to clean up the navigation, making it easier for users to find exactly what they needed. Second, they needed it to be clear who they are and what they do right from the homepage. And finally, but most importantly, they needed an updated events section, where backend users could easily add and manage events, and front end users could easily register for them. This was especially a priority, since they host a number of weekly recurring events, as well as large, highly-publicized, one-time events.
A place for anyone at any juncture of life.
The Buckeye team started with a content audit, assessing the site’s content and navigation and making recommendations. From this, it was decided that several landing pages could be compiled. This would both simplify the navigation and make it easier for people to find what they needed. Additionally, a “past events” archive was created for people to refer back to videos and other materials from previous events. Our site builders also completely overhauled the upcoming events section, adding in search and calendar functions, clearer calls to action to register for events, and even allowing people to add events to their own calendars with just the click of a button. At the same time, our design team designed a site that felt both calming and nurturing, reflecting the essence of the Spiritual Life & Learning Center.
Thus, with our team’s combined efforts and close collaboration with the Spiritual Life & Learning Center team, we were able to create a site that fits exactly what they need to more effectively serve their community.
