Choosing a degree program is a huge decision, and prospective students have a lot of questions before they’re ready to fill out a form. They want to understand what each program offers, but they also have practical considerations like cost, time to completion, career outcomes, admissions requirements, and upcoming start dates. Presenting this much information in one place is a challenge for most colleges, and many rely on links to Course Catalogs rather than showing all information on the page.
American College of Education saw an opportunity to make that decision-making process easier. The goal was to create program pages that answered as many of those questions as possible in one place, allowing prospective students to quickly evaluate whether a program was the right fit while providing a clear path to request additional information.
The redesign also needed to work seamlessly across devices, particularly on mobile, where many prospective students begin their research. The new experience needed to establish a flexible design system that could scale across dozens of academic programs while remaining consistent with ACE’s existing website.
We redesigned the program page template around the information prospective students need most when evaluating a program.
Right at the top of each page, visitors can immediately see key decision-making details, including total program cost, estimated time to completion, and the next available start date. A prominent “Request Program Information” form stays visible while users scroll, giving them an easy way to connect with admissions whenever they’re ready.
From there, the experience guides prospective students through the questions they’re most likely to ask. Dedicated sections highlight career opportunities with links to detailed career guides, outline the core courses included in each program, explain tuition and admissions requirements, and showcase student success stories that help bring the program experience to life.
To encourage exploration, each page also includes a feed of related degree programs, making it easy for prospective students to compare similar options without leaving their research journey.
Throughout the experience, content is organized into clear, modular sections using cards, accordions, and concise content blocks that make complex information easy to scan on both desktop and mobile. The result is an intuitive experience that helps prospective students find answers quickly while maintaining a cohesive visual language across the ACE website.
The redesigned program pages provide prospective students with a more complete picture of each degree program before they ever speak with an enrollment counselor. By displaying the information students care about most, the pages help visitors make informed decisions with greater confidence.
The modular template also gives American College of Education a scalable foundation for presenting academic programs consistently across the site while supporting future growth of academic offerings.
The project was recognized with an APEX Award for Web Design, honoring the balance of thoughtful user experience, strong visual design, and effective communication of complex information.
