Buckeye Interactive Movember Update: Week 4

As the cold December weather sets in we can finally say goodbye to the mustaches that have adorned our upper lips for the past 30-odd days. Last night was our Buckeye Interactive Movember ’13 Closing Ceremony, held at Creekside Local Cantina in Gahanna. Awards were given, Mustache Rides (the establishment’s signature margarita) were enjoyed, and a separately-organized trivia night conveniently kept everyone entertained and enabled “Team Mo'” to exhibit our considerable trivia prowess.

Movember teams in the Columbus area collectively raised $95,000 for Movember; of that, Buckeye Interactive was responsible for bringing in $475 towards men’s health issues, including prostate and testicular cancer research. This was a huge community effort and our thanks go out to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported Movember over the last month or so!

Movember 2013 awards

At the closing ceremony last night we gave out three awards: Mo’ Sista of the Year, Mustache of the Year, and Best Fundraiser. The first two were determined by vote (and were intentionally left subjective in nature) while the third was simply whichever team member, man or woman, had the highest total on his/her MoSpace page by 7pm.

You award winners for Buckeye Interactive’s First Annual Movember Excellence Awards of Excellence (a name that wouldn’t have fit on the trophies) are:

  • Mo’ Sista of the Year: Sarah Davis. In addition to helping organize Movember activities, Sarah had to put up with Chas’s mustache which, up until the last week or so, was rather creepy.

  • Mustache of the Year: Ryan took home this award after sending us this classy-as-hell picture from Thanksgiving:

  • Best Fundraiser: Steve Grunwell. I just beat out Chas and Brad, raising a total of $137.25.

One more video…

All of the Movember blog posts up to this point have had Nick Offerman videos. I’m a stickler for Mustache-related traditions, so here’s Nick Offerman’s Stachedance:
